The work of Greek artist Underdott is a medley between the realms of minimalism and surrealism. He creates environments with both geometric shapes, as well as elements ranging from historic to modern times that create an energy in their calmness at times when you would expect it least; giving off a feeling like there’s something more happening beyond what meets your eye.

New Artist Underdott Merges Minimalism and Surrealism
Underdott has spent the last 10 years working predominantly as an architect. In a field that requires extreme attention to detail and precision, it is obvious how it has crossed over into his artwork. His work is a breath of fresh air in an art world that can be dull and unoriginal. His pieces have intricate details, but they’re not lavish on precision; instead he allows his figures to dance across the surface with some freedom for movement while still maintaining balance between line drawing and shape making through the use borders and other elements. His father, also an architect and traditional painter, inspired Underdott to take up art at an early age. He now uses everyday life experiences to construct scenes that are both realistic, but not entirely believable.
