Background
“I embrace the adventure and exploration of traveling throughout the United States to places infrequently viewed as destinations in an effort to document the beauty and grace in mundane or everyday things.”

Q&A
Do your current or past locations influence your artistic choices?
Yes, I think place or one’s impression of place has a big impact on expression. Growing up in Michigan, my time was spent in the rural communities traditionally found in the American Midwest, as well as the urban and semi-urban environments of Detroit and Flint, Michigan. Always attentive to the intrinsic value of these communities, these experiences help inform my photographic vision in that I aim to access the places and spaces many viewers either want to forget, have forgotten, or may have never noticed in the first place.
Do you have a career outside of being an artist? If so, what do you do?
I do. When not pursuing art, much of my time is spent working in public health care and human services to maintain the social safety net.
Despite the recent resurgence of film photography, I think format is irrelevant and a good image is more about the impact on the viewer through captured color, exposure, composition, and the photographer's post-processing work and overall aesthetic they are trying to convey.
