“The Fresh Prince of Bel Air” Mansion to List for $30 Million
The iconic mansion that served as the exterior of the Banks family home on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air sitcom is officially hitting the real estate market in 2026, decades after first being sold. The Georgian Colonial estate, built in 1937 and instantly recognizable to fans around the world, is being listed for just under $30 million. Though the show’s title suggests a Bel-Air location, the real house is actually in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, one of the city’s most prestigious residential areas.
The property spans roughly 10,000 square feet and sits on a corner lot of about 38,510 square feet. It features six bedrooms, seven-and-a-half bathrooms, manicured gardens, a swimming pool, and multiple entertaining spaces designed for large gatherings, making it a luxury estate in its own right beyond its television fame. During the sitcom’s six-season run from 1990 to 1996, the exterior appeared in every opening scene, while interior scenes were filmed on soundstages. That juxtaposition helped the house become one of the most enduring symbols of 1990s television culture.
Over the years, the estate has remained largely unchanged and has even appeared in other media projects, including recent Netflix productions, keeping it in the public eye. Fans previously had a rare chance to stay in parts of the property through an Airbnb experience tied to the show’s anniversary celebrations.
The sale marks the first time in nearly half a century that the house is openly available for purchase, a rare moment for collectors of television history and luxury real estate alike. Its combination of Hollywood nostalgia, classic architecture, and opulent features makes it one of the most talked-about listings of the year.
