Most Addicting Videos on YouTube Made by This Self-Taught Videographer

Meet Caleb Simpson: a self-taught videographer with a story.

Caleb’s journey wasn’t always headed for YouTube stardom. Initially, he played tennis and enrolled in a professional tennis management program post-graduation. However, it was his side hustle, offering his self-taught filming skills to social media personalities, that helped him pave his path to YouTube and TikTok virality.

After juggling gaining traction on TikTok and YouTube while working for an NFT startup, a casual coffee shop conversation with a friend steered him toward an untapped niche, touring various NYC apartments through the lens of rent and relatability.

Caleb’s strategy was simple and authentic. He'd approach strangers, ask about their rent, and if lucky, get to tour their apartments, MTV Cribs style. His YouTube channel soon started buzzing as viewers couldn’t wait to get a glimpse of New York living through his lens.

What unfolded was unique, effortless and entertaining. Caleb didn’t just showcase apartments; he offered a look into the lives of everyday New Yorkers. The tiny closet sized apartments you hear about, Caleb toured. Showing how creative people are with their space. Others include big lofty apartments with a story. From permanent hotel residents to closet sized studios, he saw it all.

"In three months, I hit a million subscribers on YouTube… Insane,” Caleb reflects, his face illuminated by the unexpected success. His content isn’t just about square footage or interior design but resonates on a deeper, more personal level, showing that anyone and everyone could be part of this virtual journey.

Through casual Zoom chats and his easy-going exploration of various spaces, Caleb doesn’t just display apartments; he unveils lives, stories, and unique utilizations of spaces, like a renter’s shower also being in their kitchen.

Caleb's journey doesn’t end there. Since his humble beginnings on the streets of New York, he has traveled to Los Angeles, The Hamptons, Hong Kong and more. Stay tuned and subscribe to Caleb’s Channel to be a part of this exciting journey through homes and stories, and who knows, maybe the next apartment on the tour will be yours!
