Q&A
What is your goal with your artwork and what motivates you?
The goal with my art is to constantly create for me to allow everyone to be able to afford art, and express themselves through their spaces.
What are you influenced by?
My biggest creative influence would be the world around me.
Do your current or past locations influence your artistic choices?
I think the juxtaposition of being from Jamaica and now living in New York has truly impacted my outlook on culture and art on a whole. Two places known for innovation and influence around the world.
How did you acquire your nickname?
Nuwarhol was created to mean “the fight between love and lust,” an ideology I developed when I thought I had to chose between having 9-5, or pursue my art — the name just became the identity to describe that thought process. As time went by the ideology developed into Never Underestimate the WAR to stay High On Life.
What projects are you currently working on or what’s next for you?
I think the best thing.
This was the tool that help me to start the process of Nuwarhol. When I was starting out I used Procreate pocket to draw something everyday when I travelled to and from work.
