“My favorite medium to work with is water. The fluidity of water not only changes the character of color, but it is the kernel for life. Never controlled, with practice can be guided, and with luck can be beautiful.”

Q&A

What is your goal with your artwork?

When my dad was diagnosed with ALS, he did not leave a hospital for 3 years. My family became very accustomed to visiting different rehab centers where the atmosphere was depressing and bleak. My goal since has been to fill white walls with beauty, emotion, and inspiration.

Who/what are your biggest creative influences?

Icons – people who have been movers and shakers, people who are unapologetic, people who have made a difference in how we look at the world.

Do your current or past locations influence your artistic choices?

Yes! I have lived in New Jersey, Pittsburgh, Arizona, Chicago, and Austin. Each place introduced me to new cultures and experiences that I bring into my artwork.

What projects are you currently working on?

With each new collection I focus on bringing a new aspect to the series. I am currently working on a mixed media series which incorporates print media.

How did you acquire your nickname?

Everyone calls me P!

What other hobbies do you have?

Spending time with my 2 dogs, finding hole-in-the-wall restaurants, learning new creative skills.

What brands represent your personal style?

Puma.
